About us
We're Sofia and Kevin, and we're building HelloNoa from Zurich.
HelloNoa is a studio for freelancers. It handles the business side of going solo (proposals, contracts, time tracking, invoicing, getting paid) so you can spend more of your day on the actual work.
We started it because people around us kept going freelance and hitting the same wall. Not the craft, they had that down. The admin. Writing a contract without a lawyer, chasing an invoice for the third week running, juggling four tools that don't talk to each other.
The tools that did exist never quite fit freelancing in the UK or Europe: the templates, the currencies, the tax handling, the payment flows all assumed somewhere else. So we built it ourselves, and we think the two of us are an unusually good fit for the job: a lawyer who writes the contracts, and an engineer who builds the product. The legal bit and the software bit, by the people who actually own each.
What we've built so far
HelloNoa takes you from first client to getting paid, all in one place: a proposal, a contract, time tracking, an invoice, and a card payment, with the next step always laid out for you.
Sofia writes and reviews every contract template herself, for UK law, across six industries. They cover the clauses most freelancers don't think about until something goes wrong: revision caps, usage rights, late-payment penalties. That's the part you'd normally pay a solicitor for.
Kevin built the whole platform from scratch while studying computer science at ETH Zurich, every screen and every integration: Stripe for payments, Legalesign for e-signatures, plus Calendly, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

Qualified lawyer. Runs the business side: strategy, legal, pricing, customer conversations. Writes and reviews every contract template in the platform.
Kevin Stöckli
CTO & Co-Founder
Computer science at ETH Zurich. Built the entire product solo. Handles development, security, infrastructure, and everything technical.
That's the whole team for now, and we like it that way: small enough that the people building HelloNoa are the same people who answer when you email us. We're based in Zurich, registered as a Swiss GmbH, and we plan to start hiring later in 2026.
How we run things
Your data stays in Europe. Our servers are in Frankfurt, we're GDPR compliant, and we don't use your data for anything other than running the product. No selling it, no training models on it.
We haven't taken outside funding. A few grant applications are in, but for now we're bootstrapped, which means we can take our time and build what actually helps freelancers instead of chasing growth metrics for an investor.
And we're building toward Noa: an advisor that knows your projects and can flag things like overdue invoices or unsigned contracts before they become a problem. It runs on Google Cloud (Vertex AI). It's not finished yet, but it's where HelloNoa is heading.
