About us
We're Sofia and Kevin, and we're building HelloNoa from Zurich.
HelloNoa is a studio for freelancers. It handles the admin side of freelancing — proposals, contracts, time tracking, invoicing, getting paid — so you can spend more time on the work itself.
We started working on it because a lot of people around us were going freelance and struggling with the same things. Not the work part. The business part. Writing contracts without a lawyer, chasing invoices for weeks, using four different tools that don't talk to each other.
The platforms that existed were all built in the US. American templates, American payment flows, everything in dollars. There was nothing designed for freelancers working in the UK or Europe.
So we decided to build it. Sofia handles the legal side and the business. Kevin writes the code. That's essentially the whole company right now.
How it works
You create a project, and HelloNoa walks you through it step by step. First you send a proposal. Then a contract. Then you track your time, generate an invoice, and the client pays by card. Six steps, all in one place.
The contract templates are written by Sofia, reviewed for UK law, and cover six different industries. They include things like revision caps, usage rights, late payment penalties — the clauses most freelancers don't think about until something goes wrong.
Kevin built the whole thing from scratch while studying computer science at ETH Zurich. Every screen, every integration. It connects to Stripe for payments, Legalesign for e-signatures, Calendly, Google Drive, Dropbox.
The team
Sofia Sabben
CEO & Co-Founder
Qualified lawyer. Runs the business side — strategy, legal, pricing, customer conversations. Writes and reviews every contract template in the platform.
Kevin Stöckli
CTO & Co-Founder
Computer science at ETH Zurich. Built the entire product solo. Handles development, security, infrastructure, and everything technical.
We're based in Zurich. HelloNoa is a Swiss GmbH. There's two of us right now. We plan to start hiring later in 2026.
Other things
Our servers are in Frankfurt. Your data stays in Europe. We're GDPR compliant and we don't use your data for anything other than running the product.
We haven't taken outside funding. We're applying to a few grant programmes, but for now it's bootstrapped. That means we can take our time and build what actually matters instead of chasing growth metrics.
We're also working on an AI feature called Noa — an advisor that knows your projects and can flag things like overdue invoices or unsigned contracts. It's built on Google Cloud (Vertex AI), and it's not ready yet, but it's the direction we're heading.
