Proposals & contracts

Turn a proposal into a contract or invoice

Once a client accepts your proposal, you do not start from scratch. Carry the figures straight into a contract or invoice.

Your proposal already has the numbers everyone agreed on. When it is time for the contract or the invoice, you can carry those figures across instead of retyping them.

Proposal to contract

While building a contract for the same project, look for the Use proposal numbers card and click Pull from proposal. It fills in your rate, deposit, and payment terms from the project's proposal (it will ask you to confirm, since it overwrites those fields). You check rather than rebuild.

Proposal to invoice

Starting an invoice for that project? On a blank invoice, click Import from proposal to bring the proposal's line items straight in, then adjust quantities or amounts if the final bill differs. No copying totals by hand.

Why it helps

Keeping the figures consistent from proposal to contract to invoice means fewer mistakes: the numbers your client agreed to are the numbers they see all the way through.
