Where's my money? Payout timing explained
Your client paid but it isn't in your bank yet? That's normal. Here is exactly how payouts work.
If a client has paid but the money is not in your bank account yet, take a breath, this is completely normal and nothing has gone wrong.
How it flows
When your client pays, the money first arrives safely in Stripe, then pays out to your bank account on a schedule. There is always a short gap between "paid" and "in your bank", that gap is just the payout settling, not a problem.
The first one takes longer
Your very first payout usually takes a little longer while Stripe finishes verifying your account. After that, payouts settle into a regular rhythm and arrive much faster.
How to check
Your invoice will show as paid the moment the client pays. To see the payout itself, your Stripe dashboard shows the exact date the money will land. If something looks stuck for longer than expected, open a chat with us and we will help you trace it.
Common questions
My client paid, so why isn't it in my account?
Payments settle through Stripe before they pay out to your bank. The first payout takes a little longer while your account is verified, then payouts arrive on a regular schedule. The money is safe the whole time.
